You should count number of days of pregnancy from the day of mating. Do not rely on milk production because it can be after 54-55 days of pregnancy and sometimes late as in the evening of the delivery of the puppy. So, there is no fixed time for milk production in dogs. Reduction in rectal temperature is one of the signs of start labor in dogs. Other signs are

1.    Loss of appetite
2.    Restlessness/pacing
3.    Agitation

When labor begins, she will also shake and strain to push puppy out. It will be better to get help from the vet for delivery in your dog.
