Diarrhea in dogs can be due to bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic infection of gastrointestinal tract, food allergy, eating garbage, changes in diet, some other illnesses, lymphoma, cancer and side effects of many medicines. Stress can also cause diarrhea in dogs. Treatment of diarrhea in dogs depends upon underlying cause. Diagnosis may require blood & fecal tests, and x-rays. After proper diagnosis, any treatment can be suggested.
My Golden Retriever Has Had The Diarrhea For Two Days Now. In Fact, He Was Just To The Vet, I Mentioned That He Had The Diarrhea, The Vet Said He Must Have Got Into Something That Did Not Agree With Him. The Vet Said It Would Pass. What To Do?
I took my golden to the vet. He has a hot spot on his rectum and up his tail. I feel so bad for him, he is in pain. But, he is on meds and will recover. Thank you for responding to my question.
