Well I wouldnt use soap on my dogs coat because it will make her skin very dry, itchy and flaky, stripping it of its natural oils and making the coat lose its natural shine. Unless your dog has a wired coat that can be stripped then yes you can use soap but don't bath too often or use conditioner as this will soften the hair.
