Don't be
confused with dry or cold nose of your dog if he is free from fever.
Nose temperature in dogs does not reflect their heath. It is general
misconception among people. Only runny noses in dogs are due to
illness. Fever in dogs also causes warm nose and should be investigated
for the cause by the vet. You should watch for other symptoms like
  1. Lethargy
  2. Loss of appetite
  3. Weight loss
  4. Shaking
  5. Drooling
If
your dog is free from any other sign of illness and his appetite and
playing habits are not disturbed then he is fine, otherwise take him to
vet.

Your dog might have worm or maybe even a virus  that  happend to my dog she started after we gave her water and the meds they gave us helped so try to ask the vet to check if you can check for that and also try to stick by your dog side by theway one more thing he could have is a germ from eating a mouse or a rat
