Urinary tract infection is major cause of bloody urine in dogs. Urinary tract includes urethra, bladder, ureters and kidneys. Infection in one or more of these parts of urinary tract can cause bloody urine in dogs. Other causes of bloody urine in dogs are
  1. Vaginal infection and inflammation
  2. Infection of prostate gland (male dogs)
  3. Urogenital cancer
  4. Stones in the urinary tract
  5. Parasites in urinary tract
So, it is necessary to take your dog to vet for differential diagnosis and treatment.
