It's not how it's done but they usually take the first time unless there's an underlying health issue somewhere. Since that's really a basic and the very tip of the iceberg and one of the least complicated thing's when it come's to breeding you should probably do more research before attempting to breed.  Contact breeder's at the breed club, see if you can find a good mentor, do independent research, do your health testing, decide what your ultimate goal is (for improvement) and what you need to do to accomplish it and then make a decision. It's a lot of work, cost's a lot of money, a lot of responsibility (your creating live's and there will also be those that love them and affecting generation's and generation's to come possibly) a lot of liability and a huge risk.
