My Chow-Sheppard mix is a female about 55-60 lbs. She is about knee high to me. She has reddish-blonde fur with a light belly and a black (now graying) snout. She also has the trademark purple spotted tongue. She is the most loving dog I've ever had. She does get very jealous of young children though. We have to be careful of that.
My Chow Shepherd is a beautiful girl, 1 Year and 6 Months, She weighs approx. 45 pounds and is relatively small. She really isn't that big. She has small paws, is basically longer then she is taller, but very healthy and happy!
My german/chow mix was a male and was a very large dog.He had the length and height of a german shepard and the thick coat and curly tail of a chow. He was black with red points very beautiful. Our dog was never neutered and could be aggressive at times, so that might be something you'll want to consider especially if you have children. Great guard dog!
Listen, I raise many different breeds of Dog, What people say about a a Breed of dog temperament is not true.Cow-Shepard .The way you raise a puppy is what he will turn out to be. My Shep-Chow she is not aggressive he runs loose plays fetch with children. I have had 1 German Shepard, 2 Pits, 1 Golden, 1 Yorkies, and a Beagle at the same time and they all got along no fighting at all but some growling of course ...lol If you treat any breed with Love and firmness he will turn out Loving. Number 1 dog lover
We think she is going to shed a lot and look like a german. She also has blue spots on her tongue. She is 24 inches off the ground and she loves the snow!
I have had my German Shepard-Chow mix for 14 years now. He weighs in at about 60 lbs in the summer and about 70 lbs in the winter (most of which is hair, lol). The size of the mix on any sub-breeds is usually effected by the size of it's parents. In most cases, a true bloodline will have very few inconsistencies with size and coloration. However, in every breed, there will always be a small percentage of offspring that are very different than its parents. The most accurate way to "guess" the size of the dog would be to see it's parents, when possible. Or, when they are not available, look at both breeds and average the size between them. Then remember that there could be as much as a 20% difference in either direction as to its size. It is more like an educated guessing game at this point. Good luck.
I have two black show/shepherd mixes, they're both about 16-18 inches tall and weigh around 55lbs, and they're only 6 months old. But it is possible that they have something else in them too, so that could explain why mine seem to be bigger already than some others listed.
My dog is very pretty. She has pointed ears and a couple of spots on her tongue. She is mostly brown and has white in her? I'm not sure if chows can be white. Ive read that shepherds can't be white either? Not sure. But she has a white stomach and reddish overcoat. She has a shepherds tail for sure. She is about 3 or 4 months old and maybe 15 lbs. I hope she gets really big!!!!
Our german shepherd/chow mix is 55 lbs and he is only six months old. He is red with a black muzzle and black tipped ears and really big paws so we are guessing he'll probably be about 75 to 85 pounds when full grown. He has such a sweet personality and just loves us big time.
