Dogs have moist/cold noses without discharge. Cold and moist nose in dogs is not a symbol of health. Many dogs can sick even with moist and cold noses and many dogs can be healthy with warm and dry noses. Dogs usually have dry nose when they waking up in the morning.

Lethargy is characterized by having reduced activities, drowsiness, and delay in response to external stimuli. If dog show lethargic signs for more than 24 hours then visit to vet is necessary. Canine lethargy can be due to electrolyte imbalance, anemia, cardiovascular disorders, infections, etc.

Symptoms of cold in dogs can be coughing, sneezing, runny nose and watery eyes. These symptoms are related with upper respiratory tract infection due to bacteria or virus. Kennel cough caused by bacteria also causes discharge from eyes and nose  in dogs.

So, visit a vet for differential diagnosis and accurate treatment.

Possibly a pinched nerve in the spine or disc . Panting and shaking can be signs of pain or anxiety. If he doesn't want to jump up on furniture, climb stairs or having difficulty  lying down,he may be suffering from a slipped disc/pinched nerve. You need to see a vet in the morning. He needs to diagnosis if it is a nerve or disc problem. The other possibilities would be a GI problem-gas,foreign body, eating something inappropriate, pancreatitis, tumor. Do not give aspirin! The vet .may want to give a steroid or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory tomorrow and there would be possible complications mixing with the asprin.
