This bleeding can last for 7-10 days. Female dogs don't like company of male dogs for mating during this stage. When bleeding stops or reduced then second stage of heat cycle begins called estrus. Mating is possible at this stage when she shows flagging which is invitation for mating to male dogs. If she becomes pregnant then her pregnancy can be of an average 9 weeks. My pitbull is 12monthes old she is in her first heat we have been mating her for like the last several days but how do you know if the mating is official do they have to lock for her to get pregnant? And how would you tell if she was pregnant?
Your answer is two weeks, best time to breed between 10th and 12 day. Bleeding lasts to some extent all two weeks(if you notice it)
