As I'm sure many of us here in the Blurtit community know - this is almost impossible! Cats will poop almost anywhere and, usually, it is on a neighbour's lawn rather than on the owner's.
This can be rather infuriating, especially if a person is very fond of their garden and likes to keep their lawn a poop-free area!
How can I stop cats from pooping on my lawn!
I have seen some rather ingenious designs for products to stop cats from pooping on lawns, some of which may work - but they're not always 100% poop-proof.

- Some people have put bits of metal mesh or fence-like material down on top of the soil, to stop the cats from doing their dirty business in these areas. This is effective, as the cats don't enjoy stepping on the mesh, but it will also mean that you cannot grow flowers or vegetables in these areas.
- One of the more extravagant techniques I've seen is a spotlight and water sprayer linked up to a motion sensor. When the cat makes its approach into the garden, it triggers the motion sensor which sprays a jet of water at the cat. This does not harm the cat - it only startles it.
