Toads usually eat insects, bugs, grubs, worms, slugs and many other such invertebrates. When toads or frogs are young, they are called tadpoles. Tadpoles will eat plants. If you have a toad as a pet, and it has been domesticated, it will however, eat fruits and vegetables. One should train pet toads or frogs to hang out in the garden and eat insects and bugs, like they are made to do because they can play their role in pest control. Toads are actually no different then frogs. Frogs are referred to as toads sometimes as they the members of the Bufonidae family which consists of more then 300 species and they or more or less look alike.

They eat earthworms, slugs, flys, usally if you try to feed your toad a fly swat it and tie a piece of string on it then move it around the toads face and then the toad should eat it also they do eat fruit and veggies and toads eat stuff that move so try and tie a string around the fruit then it would eat it.

Crickets, earthworms, wax worms, guppies...mostly any bug.
DO NOT feed your toad mealworms or grasshoppers or red wigglers.

Mealworms are hard for them to digest, grasshoppers sometimes poisons them, and red wigglers taste bad to most toads.

How much should toads eat in a day? I feed mine live insects morning and night for sure and the occasional fly snack throughout the day. I just recently bought them dried worms and fish food bc they always seem to be hungry.

I think that the toad is small because it was malnourished as a tadpole. I am afraid it is just going to die. It won't eat anything that isn't moving or alive and you aren't going to be able to find anything that small. I hope that you have figured out something that I don't know and it is still alive. Sorry.

Flies. Just lightly smack them with a fly swatter to injure them so they cant fly then just put it in the tank. They also eat small moths. I turn the porch light on at dark and wait for the bugs. I put a little water int the jar to wet the wings of what i catch. This keeps them from flying. They will eat dead bugs if you put them in the water. They just need to see it move. Blowing on the bugs helps make them move too. JUST MAKE SURE THE FOOD IS SMALLER THAN THE TOAD!!!
