I would not recommend as he may get splinters in his mouth and can cause an absess.  Though the taste of bamboo is wonderful, and humans have been able to make into food, raw, or dried bamboo can only be properly chewed by panda bears, which are not actually bears

WTF?

Bamboo is quite possibly one of the BEST chew toys for dogs.

Non toxic, soft, doesn't rot/smell. Breaks away to nothing leaving nothing to get caught in intestinal tract and so easily grow-able its not funny. As dogs they have enzymes for breaking down grasses, bamboo is a grass, albeit a fast growing slightly woody one. Never the less a grass. It VERY easily digested and has virtually NO CHANCE of harming their teeth. (unless you never took care of their calcium levels as a puppy). Bamboo is GREAT for your dog and he will love it. Most tree's have toxic oils in them so It is a far better alternative to a stick anyway as you know nothing about the tree from which that stick came.

I would say "no!" Bamboo is not in the dog diet. It is not good for you dog's or dogs' digestive system. If your dog eats bamboo it would be hard for him or her to digest it.

I guess. Dogs eat grass all the time, and bamboo is a type of grass. It's not poisonous or anything because humans eat it too. So sure.
