Have your puppy examined by a veterinarian. It is likely the xiphoid process-a point at the edge of the sternum. The ribs are bone and the last rib can seem to protrude in some dogs.
The stomach is not an endless pit--it cannot physically hold numerous meals without passing them through to the intestines. Also when dogs gorge themselves and the stomach stretches past normal capacity many dogs will vomit.
