Some dogs will eat try to eat grass regularly in small amounts on walks etc as part of their normal behavior.  However most dogs eat grass when they are feeling nauseous.  The grass does not settle the stomach; it does not have any anti-nausea properties.  In fact grass makes them vomit.
I am concerned that your dog has been eating rugs.  Dogs will eat things like rocks, cloth, rugs, or parts of their toys and they become stuck in the intestines.  This intestinal obstruction makes them lethargic, nausea, vomit, and can be fatal.  Your dog needs to be examined by a veterinarian to determine the cause of nausea and her unusual behavior.

I have been told that dogs eat grass to settle an upset stomache and it is ok for them. Info was given to me by my vet.
