My dog has been bitten by another dog and the left side of his face is swolen quite a bit. Does this mean he has an infection? When will this heal?

It will happen as result of the bite so try dabbing some hydrogen peroxide on the wounds but it may sting him so be prepared, and that should also help with any infection too and then apply some first aid cream with hydrocortisone like Janey said but watch him as he will try to lick it off or rub it off, and you may want to contact your Vet on this

If it's a deep puncture wound, there will be a lot of swelling and not much bleeding.Try using some warm water and a towel to clean it up and then use antiseptic cream  and a small plaster to cover the bite wounds tp let the bite heal properly.

Most bites will always get swollen because a ton of cells are rushing to the wound to hurry up and fix it; hence, all the extra bulge. I wouldn't say that it's infected unless it's turning colors or a substance is oozing out of the wound.

I would take you dog to the vet. It's harder for animals to heal. So I'm sure it's an infection.
