Ocular discharge in cats can be caused be a number of things.  It could be a foreign body, trauma to the eye, infection, blocked tear duct, allergies, dry eye or a more serious eye condition causing inflammation like glaucoma or iritis.  Your cat should have an eye examination from a veterinarian to rule out any of these causes.  Left untreated they can lead to more serious problems.
