Use a warm washcloth a couple of times a day on their eyes, and change their bedding for them. It usually clears them up after cleaning them for a couple of days. Hope this helps.

Any time there is congestion in a dog or cat you need to see a vet immediately as it can indicate pneumonia (usually is). Pneumonia must be treated by a veterinarian or they will die ( I know that sounds harsh but it is the truth). How soon you get to a vet may be the difference between life and death. Animals do not show allergies the same ways that we do. You can hear many flat faced cats breath but it's a different sound from congestion and should be evaluated first. They also are more prone to complications from simple URI's based on the structure of their face. Any change in sound after a veterinarian has deemed it 'normal' needs to be investigated.
Your kitten is likely ill and needs treatment based on the description. It can be URI that has or may become pneumonia, distemper, signs of FIP or other contagious disease or many other things. I'd get to the vet as soon as possible as congestion isn't usually a good sign.

Sounds either like allergies or a cold. Keep animal well hydrated, take a warm moist cloth, clean eyes and then nose. Make sure cloth is clean, and if after wiping nose, make sure it is clean for next time you try to clear eyes. If this seems to worsen with time, etc. Maybe have vet checked out. Some cats are more prone to this than other, like dogs. There may be many causes or it may just be the breed of cat.

I would say you should monitor them VERY closely. Plus, just gently wipe their eye with a warm, damp cloth until it opens. If the problem increases in severity or it doesnt go away, call a vet.
