Yes. It's possible your dog had a stroke yesterday, and has recovered from it today. Strokes are caused when blood supply to the brain stops temporarily, usually due to a blood clot. If the clot dissolves, then the body will resume normal functioning. If you think your dog had a stroke, then you need to go to a local vet and get more extensive testing done to find out if any of his brain functionality was permanently affected, and figure out which medication would be best for him.

Of course, you don't know if this was a stroke, since the only symptoms were the dog not opening it's mouth, and not standing up. Make sure there is nothing causing the dog any pain, maybe a wound, which could have caused it to be in so much pain over the night that it could not stand up.

It is also possible that your dog had a seizure. They can have minor seizures that cause the same symptoms. Your dog should be evaluated by a vet and monitor your dog closely for any further signs.
