It is very difficult to tell sex in Muscovy Ducks especially newborn. It can be differentiated after three months of age. For newborn Muscovy Ducks, vent sexing method can be used but this can be done by expert. You can also try. In this method, you should squeeze out the feces which will enable to open the cloaca. If you see small bump then it is male. Another method is that male Muscovy Ducks chicks have larger feet than female.

Mucovy ducks are a type of wild ducks found in Central America and South America. They are domesticated for their flesh or meat. They are also known as musk ducks. They are non-migratory birds and are usually found in swamps, lakes and streams. Their diet consists of plant materials and small insects. They belong to the family Anatidae.

There are several ways of distinguishing a male Muscovy duck from the female Muscovy duck. One feature that makes them different is that a male of these species would be much larger than the female of these species. An average male is 86 cm long and weighs 3kg while an average female would only be 64 cm long and weigh 1.3 kg. The sounds made by these birds can also be of help in distinguishing them by the gender. A drake would have a dry hissing call while the hen makes a trilling coo.
