Can A Pekin Duck Change From One Sex To Another?

I have made the same observation in 2 different breeds of my ducks. One was a buff orpington mix that was one of 2 females that lost their male partner and now she has the male tail feather and acts like a male. I also have 2 male mallards that were siblings with no other mallards around. Now one of the males has lost his male coloring and tail feather and taken on female characteristics.

Can someone explain why this duck was laying eggs and now doesn't?Why this ducks quack became very soft and now has a Drake feather?This duck also mates with the two younger, female ducks.  I have a real mystery on my hands.

No it's not possible because Pekin Duck does not change sex. Pekin Ducks are used as meat and egg source in many countries of the world. Their origin is China and they were brought to USA in last century. Now in USA, these are 95% of the total duck meat.
