I'm glad placing tape over the snaps worked. Some dogs can still chew through the tape and pull the snaps apart. There are some Elizabethan collars that do not have snaps but have loops that you can place the dog's collar through they can't get it off or snap it apart.
There are foam collars that look like a clown collar on the market too. There is also a product called a no-bite collar that looks like an inflatable inner tube or plastic neck brace that is placed around the dog's neck.
