Your cat needs to be examined by a veterinarian. Causes may include ringworm, mites, other dermal parasites, abscess/infection, and food allergies. As it is open and bleeding the wound needs to be treated with more than topical medication. Without treating the underlying problem it will continue to return. During treatment your cat may need to wear an Elizabethan Collar to prevent continued self-trauma.
My Cat Keeps Scratching The Area On Top Of His Eye Between The Eye And The Ear. She Is Scratching It Till It Bleeds. What Should I Put On It To Make It Better?
Hello, I had a cat that did that also. Most likely could be a common and very easily treatable ailment. It's ear parasites (don't freak). Cats need to gently have their ears cleaned - just on the part of the ear you can see - with a Q-tip. Our natural pet store carries "Prefect Ears" which is made up of primarily of witch hazel (CVS, Walmart). I would clean weekly to bi-weekly - however, she may also need an elizabethan collar until it heals (not sure how extreme) - my situation was worse until I found the right vet. Just put some antibiotic cream (bacitrican - cvs over the counter) to treat cuts. Good luck and God Bless.
My cat had a sore in the same exact spot. The vet would give him shots but never figured out what was causing it. The shots would last for 2 weeks and then he'd scratch the entire scab off.
We got him an e-collar. He didn't like it at first and was depressed but thank God he soon was close to himself and dealt with it very well. It took nearly two months because he had scratched and re-scratched it so much, but it healed and has been fine since.
I really wish you the best in luck; stay in contact with a veterinarian.

Probably a animal safe itch cream from the vet
Go to a store like walmart and in the pet department buy a cone to put around the head but not to tight
I would listen to AnnFalkDVM, she is a vet herself, and knows what she is talking about. Hope this helps.
