Although the bite of a Wolf spider is unpleasant and the area around the bite can become red and swollen, they are not usually termed 'dangerous'. However, as with everything in life, different people have different levels of tolerance and what might be a mild irritant to some could well mean a visit to the Emergency Room for others.

Wolf spiders are not aggressive but will inject venom freely if continually provoked. Symptoms of their venomous bite include swelling, mild pain and itching. Though usually considered harmless to humans, the bite of some species may be painful. In the past, necrotic bites have been attributed to some South American species, but further investigation has indicated that those problems that did occur were probably actually due to bites by members of other genera.[1] Australian wolf spiders have also been associated with necrotic wounds, but careful study has likewise shown them not to produce such results.

Wolf spiders poisonous but are not usually fatal to humans.  Swelling, redness and mild pain where the bite is occurs for a few days.  Australia has a wolf spider that is more dangerous to humans.  I have done a lot of reading on spider bites and no matter what you find out by researching, it is always wise to go to the doctor and get the bite checked out.  Better safe than sorry!  Hope this helps! :)

I do agree with Clbraz78. They may look big and scary but then again they can still be harmful actually. I am sure because I mean go to google images and you will see millions of results of a bite from a wolf spider.
