It depends if the jack-rat terrier is a cross with a wired hair jack russell terrier, if so then you can strip the coat by hand or if its the more smooth type of coated jack russell then you can use a rubber brush on the coat instead so there wont be much shedding at all, it just depends on how well you groom your dog....
