If you read the back of your dog food bag, it will tell you how much food she is supposed to have for her weight. DO NOT feed her any more than this. Dogs don't beg because they're hungry. They beg because what we're doing, they want to be a part of. It makes her feel a little more like "part of the pack" the best option is to feed her her kibble while you are eating dinner or restrict her to a certain part of the house. Your dog is not in charge. You are.

Hi lizvegas,

I'm of the opinion that you must show the dog who is the pack leader. Then show her where she is expected to be -- her bed, the kennel, wherever it is you want her to be ... besides the table during your dinner hour.

DO NOT REWARD HER, just ignore her while you have dinner. This behavior is expected of her, and I know it will be hard on you, but you are her parent and you must teach her proper etiquette.

After the table is cleared give her some love but no goodies, and tell her she was a good girl staying there. Then take her from her special spot and play with her or take her for a walk as a reward ... for both of you.

It may take a little time, but she will learn, and so will you. LOL. Hold your own, after all, you are the PACK LEADER! (Geez, I'm starting to sound like Cesar Milan now , huh?) LOL.

Best wishes!

At the table or everywhere? Maybe she isn't getting enough food to satisfy her growing appetite. Remember that is the key word...GROWING!!! Try giving her a little more food or break up her feeding....one at morning and then once at your dinner time. That way she is occupied while you and your family are eating dinner!!
