I'm not sure what you mean by "they can only survive up to 10 days".  Vaccination can take a week or 2 to become effective in terms of protection against disease, and your dog will only have lasting immunity if your puppy has 3 initial booster vaccinations, and then yearly vaccinations thereafter.  Puppy deaths usually occur 2-3 days after infection with the virus.  It is highly fatal in puppies and any dogs with clinical signs should receive immediate treatment.

Thank You. A lady bought a puppy from me that I had given it's first set of shots to 2 weeks prior. I told her to get the next shots in a week. She did not do this. The puppy was healthy when she left. The lady had her for 3 months and did not take her to the vet when she got sick. When she died a necropsy was done and came back with Parvo. My concern is did this puppy contract the parvo here and survive all that time? Or did the puppy contract the parvo in the 3months she owned her.. I have heard they won't survive that long. I want to take responsibility if the parvo came from here but facts are showing that they just won't live with parvo for 3 months. I have heard 7-10 days. Thanks for your time, Angie

A puppy will not live very long with parvo. If you have a puppy with Parvo get treatment now before it is to late.

Well my puppy just recently died today from what I believe was parvo cause of all the symptoms she had.
She had gotten the symptoms about three days ago so it wasn't that long.
I didn't take her to the vet in time. So please be aware of the symptoms.
They say that dogs are getting parvo so much now.

It will die within 2-3 days unless you take it to the vet

Your vet should be able to tell you more about this. Parvo is very bad if not taking care of . My friends puppy had it. But the vet took care of him & now he thinks my shoe are his .

Treatment is supportive as there is no cure. IV fluids to prevent dehydration, antibiotics to prevent secondary infections, sometimes Tamiflu as an antiviral. Parvo has to run it's course.

I am almost certain the puppy contracted the virus with its new owner. Parvo destroys the intestines of a puppy very quickly. It's usually between 4-14 days from exposure to symptoms.

Parvo is very contagious disease for dogs, and the virus can live for 6 months or more if conditions are favorable. Very hardy, most disinfectants wont kill the virus, however chlorine bleach is the best and inexpensive way to kill the virus and is commonly used by veterinarians. In-fact, any place that is contaminated with parvo should be washed with chlorine bleach mixed in 1 ounce per quart of water. Parvo can survive up to 6 months or more in your home. Adult dogs normally have greater resistance as compared to puppies, but they also need vaccines. If infected dog's proper care is taken then they might live up to many years.

My dog had parvo for some reason she survived without treatment. I didnt know it was parvo until my other puppy got sick and took her to the vet. She was diagnosed with Parvo and the Vet said that it was to late, So I had to put her to sleep.

I too have a new pup I spent a lot of money to get and 2 days after picking her up at the airport she started vomiting and having diarreah I took her to the emergency vet and was told she had Parvo virus they did treatment right away and I was able to take her home the next day I just have to devote all my time feeding her a diet food from the vet and watering her with a syringe which she really don't like but has to be done till she can do it on her own. It's a lot of work but their is many options out there if you can't afford all the vet bills, but I wouldn't recommened it if your puppy is in serious condition.I caught mine in the early part of the disease.
