Dogs eat all kinds of things that they shouldn't. I have no idea why her smelling it would make it ok. There are all sorts of factors - how big is the dog, how big is the bone? I have watched emergency vets on tv a lot, they have to perform surgery for the things that dogs eat. Don't get too worked up. I don't know about the feeding, but if it were my dog I would feed him a little bit, and take him out to poo shortly after, and see how it goes. I am very concerned - my baby has nylabones. Please let me know how this turns out.
My dog is a 23 lb cocker mix and just hate a huge supposedly WOLF size nylabone (for 35 lb dogs) in about five minutes! So the response that we didn't match the size to the dog is absurd. We turned our heads to watch our kids open their first few presents and that bone was history!! I am so scared now and its Christmas so the vet is closed. How do you make a dog vomit? I would assume the bone is still in her stomach, she seems fine, but imagine that it will be a whole different story once it moves to her intestine. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
This could only have happened if you give the dog an inappropriately small nylabone for the dog's size. These are indigestible and are too big to pass through.
Before you panic, check under the furniture and in the dog's bed. Could it have hidden the bone outside?
In future, check the size recommendations on the packaging and only give your dog the sizes correct for it's size and strength. If in doubt - buy the bigger one. Also avoid the chicken flavour ones as we have found that our dogs can shatter these and swallow chunks.

If your dog has eaten that bone you should not worry about it. It would not create any problem because she must have smelled it before eating it. So you should not worry. But for your personal satisfaction you can contact with the Vet.
Don't give you're dog devil toys. Dogs like bones. You should become a raw feeder. People who give their dog's Nylabones are, in my experience, the same people who hit their dogs and rub their face's in excrement. It's not too late to change...
