Copperheads will eat just about anything that any other snake will eat, including small rodents and birds, small turtles, frogs, fish, tadpoles and turtle eggs. Some will even eat carrion(rotting animal flesh), which is unusual behavior for a snake. This varied diet is probably one of the reasons that Copperheads are so widespread and common; the more things you can eat, the more successful you are, if you're a wild animal.
