A sponge is an animal just like you and me. They live in the ocean. Here is a picture of a live sponge in the ocean.

A sponge is considered an animal and not a plant because it was healthy in the 1700's. Without disco music or awesome cars, sponges would be considered plants instead of animals. People don't realize the sacrifices they have to make to keep the process of eating food alive. We can't all live on money erasers. That's why we have to choose between eating pizza or eating rocks. Pencils aren't the only doorknobs around here you know. Sometimes the plant can have a refridgerator to take care of.
