Even my cat is missing since 2 weeks. Did whatever I could to find him. Left no stone unturned in looking for him. He's my baby and I am missing him so badly. Always in tears now. Having dreams that he's come back and sitting comfortably on my lap as he used to do before 2weeks. Just wishing my dream comes true and he's with me again jumping around the house, bringing loads of happiness again in my life. You too don't give up, as I wont ever till I find him. Trust in God, He can't be cruel to us. Go looking for your cat around calling its name. Cats do survive on their own. They have something that helps them to survive for long even in the worst of conditions. It might be wandering around and hopefully will come back as cats do have 'homing instinct' which means they'll not forget their home, and the sense of gravity that they have help them not to lose the direction of their home. Hope yours will come soon and mine too. Missing him lot :(
God bless!

I agree with David1967, your cat will survive for quite a long time, because cats are very wild animals in my opinion.

If your cat has his claws, he's pretty self-sufficient. If he's been de-clawed, well, he's lost the ability to defend himself and, more importantly, to escape predators. But at finding food and water? Cats are pretty self-sufficient, on the whole. They have an uncanny ability to show up at a stranger's door and get food handouts. Our neighborhood (suburban Chicago) probably has four or five ferrel cats that get handouts at various neighbors' homes. They are also efficient hunters. So, in short, I'd say, "Yes, your cat can survive on his own." But I hope he comes back. Has he been neutered? If not, get 'er done, as they say. He'll be less inclined to roam.

My male cat has taken off during mating season, but has usually come back within 1 week. This time he has been gone about 2 weeks. He is pretty fearless and a dominant male to most of the male cats in the neighborhood. I am concerned because of all the rain we have had. Could he possibly get sick enough to become immobile? I have asked neighbors is they have seen him, but none have. This is pretty difficult because he is solid black and there are lots of hiding places around.

I do agree with you that two weeks is a long time. Does your cat wear a collar? I would be much more worried about that getting caught on something than I would rainy weather, honestly. Are you leaving food outside for him? He just might be close by. Try some sardines. Yeah, I know...coons and such; yet if he's anywhere around, he'll smell 'em. Good luck to you. They're like family.

My cat has been missing for a week and a half. He's fixed and is very fat (he loves food and people). Are female cat was in heat and was urinating all over the house so we locked them both in are unfinished basement until we came up with a solution to the problem. There are many nooks and crannies down there and we believe he got out somehow through a whole or someone may have saw him in the window and stole him. He's gotten out once before in the winter but came back after one day. We've patched the window he escaped from the first time so we're so confused as to were he went. Did he really escape or is he hiding? And if he escaped, will he return??

Hello
just an update on my missing cat. He has been gone since 6/19 but has occasionally been seen by neighbors. About 2am sun. (10/4) he made an appearance at my fencebut did not come into the yard. He did it again mon. At the same time, and again took off. So since he has been gone for over 3 months, i know he is o.k. Now i just have to wait for him to decide to come home. To all who have a missing cat, have faith. I will let you know when he returns.

Yes cats can survive a very long time. Try putting adverts around locally and contacting the rescue centres. Hope you find him soon.
