Yes, I found out last night to my surprise.
I live in Florida where bugs are common and we learn to keep the kitchen clean, put the garbage in the fridge etc.
I had mashed potatoes last night as part of my meal, and I missed a small chunk of cooked potato on the counter when I cleaned up. In the morning it was covered with those tiny ants ( 1/16 inch or smaller) Those small ants seem to be seasonal invaders, and this is the season. ( mid september)
I was surprised also today to find them interested in a bag of dry rice that I didnt seal well.
Thankfully, I found no other insects visiting.
