I just got back into town after leaving my goldfish in a plastic bowl for OVER TWO WEEKS....This was not intentional as I had complicated family issues to deal with which kept me away much longer than anticipated....that being said I expected to come back to a dead goldfish...I was shocked to see him still alive...When I know I am going to be gone for a day or two I always provide fresh water and do not feed him the day I leave so there will be no waste in the bowl...but let's be honest this dude should be dead...unreal!
Mine survied for a bit over a week maybe it could survive more but get a food pyramid something like that
You should get a food pyramid, or something that dissolves food in for a week or so. That is the best choice. Even though fish can live about a week without food, it's best to supply it with some food to nibble on. Also, you should buy a real plant which will supply some nutrients to the fish as well.
2 weeks
I left my goldfish at home for bout a week. I feed him the night before we left.
I have a small goldfish in a 2.5 gallon tank with filter. I am going out of station for 8 days. Should I use auto feeder or leave him without food for that time?
