Does A Dog Produce More Milk For Her Puppies?

Dogs should produce a continual supply of milk for the puppies until weaning. Weaning occurs at 6-8 weeks of age. With very large litters a mother's milk supply may not be adequate for all puppies and you will need to supplement with a puppy milk replacer. Some dogs will reject one or all of the puppies and not allow them to nurse. If this happens you will need to hand feed the puppies.
Talk to your veterinarian about further concerns regarding raising puppies.
