It varies, depending on how severe the infection is. It can have a yellowish, greenish, dark brown, or even almost black. However, I doubt that your cats symptoms would be caused by something as simple as an ear infection. :( I have 3 cats, and I know how attached I am, so I hope that your kitty gets better. I also am using panalog for one of my cats at this time for an ear infection. The only reason I noticed she had it was because she was scratching her ears a lot.

Like I said, I wish you and your cat the best of luck, but from the sound of it, your cat is very sick. Not eating or drinking is never a good sign. However, since you just started all these new meds, I would call the vet that perscribed them and tell her what is going on.

Dark ear wax is relatively normal. My cat had an ear infection last year. It was fixed up nicely with Panalog. The infection smelled terrible, like something rotten, and the stuff I cleaned out of his ear was yellowish-green. My sincerest and most heart felt sympathy for your cat's plight. I hope he or she gets better.
