Is an 8 square foot cage too small for 2 bunnies? They would be out of the cage for at least half the day.

I think it is too small.  I had a bunny for about 9 years. Her cage as 2 ft. By 4 ft. That see send perfect for her alone.

It's a bit small for two.  If floor space is an issue, you can provide them with more room by building up.

Good for you to let them out often to play, explore and stretch their legs!  😊 🐇😊
