If he was shaking and crying he may have suffered a huge fright, but if he's weak too, then something is definitely not right and you should take him/her to the vet as he/she may have eaten or drank something bad, or have an infection somewhere in the body.

My dog had also been shaking but we took him to the vets (it was in the evening) and they kept him overnight and in the morning he was fine but they never found out what was wrong with him!
