Gestation is the period when the young are developing in the mother’s uterus.  In dogs, gestation normally lasts 9 weeks (63 days).  However, puppies may be delivered between 58 and 68 days. Begin counting from the exact day she was bred.  Please rate my answer dear.  Thanks.  ♥ Nassy

The gestation period is the period during which the litters grow in the uterus of the mother dog. The gestation period for dogs is roughly 9 weeks. Although litters could be delivered around 56-72 days after breeding. The gestation period may vary in dogs that is why the days after the breeding should be counted.

62 days. That starts from the second week of the female in heat. See the female has a week of come on a week in and a week gone out. because the week that she is in is the week when she is fertile.

When my dog summer had her first  litter of puppies we weren't sure how far along she was in her pregnancy. When she got pregnant again we counted how many weeks/days she was pregnant. We were on vacation when she delivered though. But we think her pregnancy was about 9 weeks long.

Usually 60 days but that is only a guesstimate and not an actual fact. Although both of the dogs that I had as pets Female ones at that had their pups in approximately 60 days.

Gestation (pregnancy) in dogs lasts 63-66 days.  The breeding date is helpful in tracking pregnancy length.  If you are concerned your dog is past her "due-date" have her examined by a veterinarian immediately.

With my cockers I go 60 days from the first tie (breeding). I allow for 2 days beyond that but if they go over 62 days I call the vet. My vet also says 60 days. You should also have an x-ray done at about 53 days (1 week before due date) just to confirm your dates and the number of pups. With the smaller breeds it's helpful to know how many pups you are expecting. Just one or two pups can often spell trouble with whelping. Even with that, it's wise to have calcium on hand and some oxytocin with the proper instructions from you vet on how to use it. You should also have your vet aware of the due dates so that if there are complications you can give him/her a call.

If you are taking your dogs temperature daily it will drop approximately 24 hours before she whelps out. Although I have seen the odd dog go longer than the 24, that tends to make both me and my vet a little nervous. My last dog went 30 hrs. But the first few pups were breach.
