Weird Flying Insect Yellow And Black Legs, What Is This?

I think I got one too- Currently trapped in my between my window and the screen.

It is almost wasp like or flying ant.

It is about 11/2 inches long. The wings only go to the thorax. Small black head, long yellow and black legs. Back legs are longer then the rest and a bit spider-like.
The waist is needle thin and really long.

I am in the niagara falls micro climate.
Any ideas?

Sounds like what you saw is a Black and Yellow Mud Dauber. Hope that helps!

It's a hornet. Some are blue others are black-yellow.
