There are many reasons of bad smell from dogs. I can give you some possibilities. Your vet can help you to diagnose proper cause and offer treatment.
  1. If your dog has rolled over decaying material, it can cause smell.
  2. Ear infection causes bad smell
  3. Infected anal glands are another cause of bad smell.
  4. If these anal glands have thick secretion which can not be emptied, cause smell.
  5. Gums and teeth diseases.
  6. Flatulence
  7. Diseases like diabetes and renal failure can also cause bad smell
so, for proper diagnosis and treatment visit to vet.

My mom had a dog once that had skin allergies and had problems with odor until her and her vet figured out the cause. The dog was allergic to the carpet of all things. Still only a vet can truly answer your question.

We had one that had the same problem and it turned out he had a infection in his mouth and when he groomed himself he made himself stink. Also it could be impacted anal glads you probably need to call your vet and describe the symptoms

I have the same problem, but I found out my other dogs lick her a lot. Maybe if you have other dogs, they just lick her.
