What Can I Do To Keep My 1 Year Old Golden Retr. From Chewing/destroying Rugs, Furniture, And Most Everything Else, Especially While We (I) Are Gone? Will She Outgrow This? Would Getting A 2nd Dog Help Or Just Double Trouble?

A kennel is really the best solution to this problem.  You could also try keeping her in a small room--though some dogs will chew molding.  Getting a second dog will most likely not help.  Many dogs do mostly outgrow this destructive period though Golden Retrievers can act like puppies for years.  Consult with your veterinarian to see if she has separation anxiety (can be treated with behavior modification and medication) or if she just has too much energy.  Trying to enrich her environment when you are home and make sure she is getting enough exercise will help.  Many cities have doggie day care facilities where she can play all day.
Golden Retrievers are a common breed of dog we see with foreign body obstructions--especially young ones.  They will not just chew rugs, furniture but will eat them.  These things become stuck in the intestine and they cannot pass them.  This requires surgery and can be a life threatening problem.  Common objects include socks, underwear, rocks, toys, and carpet/rugs.  For your dog's safety kennel train her.

Boredom Chewing and Hyper Chewing
-Dogs chew because they are bored, don't get enough exercise, don't have toys to play with/chew on.
~This is easily cured by taking your dog on walks, swimming, wrestling, playing fetch, and giving her different kinds (balls, squeeky toys, stuffed animals, bones, frisbees, shapes with food in them) of toys to play with.

Growing-Pains Chewing
-Dogs chew because they are teething.Their new teeth are growing in and it hurts. Having something to put in their mouth makes it feel better and distracts them from the pain.
~Giving dogs exercise and things that they can chew on makes a big difference.

Separation-Anxiety Chewing
-The dog is so fixated on and obsessed with you and your family that she panics when you leave her sight. She can bark, howl, eat, chew, dig, go to the bathroom, throw up, shake, whine, have a panic attack. Make sure that she does not eat what she chews up.
~This requires a dog trainer and/or vet to help cure with positive association training and medication. Exercise makes the dog too tired to make a big fuss over you leaving. Toys give her something she is allowed to destroy.

Getting your dog a buddy will lessen/stop boredom chewing and hyper chewing. But unless your second dog is past the teething stage you might go through growing-pains chewing again if they dog doesn't have enough exercise and entertainment.

There are creams and sprays that you can buy at pet stores that have a bad taste to discourage your dog from chewing. They don't stain, discolor, or leave marks.

A dog crate/kennel/playpen can keep your dog from chewing on the wrong things.

I was going to suggest a muzzle when you could not supervise her but that would prevent her from eating and maybe drinking.
