Excessive saliva or drooling is a common sign of nausea in dogs and cats.  Common causes for nausea, vomiting and gastrointestinal upset in young puppies include viral infection (most commonly parvovirus), dietary indiscretion (eating things they are not supposed or unused to like garbage or stuff in the yard, or people food), severe intestinal parasite infection, stress, or a intestinal foreign body obstruction.  The sweaty paws may be due to fever, stress, discomfort, or pain.  Have your puppy examined by a veterinarian to assess its health status.  In puppies the faster a diagnosis is achieved the better the prognosis.
