Giraffes have special valves in their neck veins to help protect them from passing out while getting a drink of water helping to keep the blood flowing back to their heart from up and down their long neck while their head is lower than their heart.in other words these special valves prevent sudden loss of blood pressure causing them to pass out so an enemy can attack after they would have passed out if they did not have these valves.
