My Lab Has Bald Patches About A Quarter Sized, Pink And Scabby On Her Two Front Legs Above Her Joints; Is It Normal "Wear And Tear" Or Serious?

It is common in large breed dogs to develop calluses over
their elbow joints.  These are pressure
sores—often these dogs like to lie on tile or other hard surfaces leading to
these calluses.  There is no cushion—like
fat or muscle—over the elbows.  If you
dog is overweight this is contributing to the problem and weight loss will
help. 

If the areas of hair loss are oozing, look infected, or your
dog is chewing/licking them they need to be examined by a veterinarian.
