Symptoms of its pregnancy start when vaginal ejection occurs after a month of mating. An increase in the blood supply around the base of the nipples takes place around twenty five days after mating. Sometimes, appetite is down and abdomen enlarges along with the total body weight after forty five to fifty days of mating. Behavior change with minor depression can be observed after few days. It starts scratching the floor and showing restlessness even more. All the pregnancy symptoms are more prominent after a month or so. During these days it needs special attention and high quality diet.
Pregnancy in dogs lasts 64-66 days--just over 2 months. Uterine enlargement can be palpated (felt) at 25-30 days. The earliest pregnancy can be diagnosed ultrasonically is 20-22 days and more reliably at 26 days. On x-rays uterine enlargement can be seen between day 21 and 42. The fetal skeleton calcifies at day 45 and can be seen on x-rays. This is the most reliable way to count the number of puppies.
She should be about 49 days pregnant-so nipple enlargement can be seen and her abdomen should appear distended. Puppies can be palpated at this point as they have a calcified skeleton.
Good luck!

You will need to take your pup to the vet where they will perform an ultrasound to confirm the pregnancy. There are other methods that your vet may use but I believe the ultrasound method is the least invasive. This method is not invasive so it most vets will prefer this technique.
She might be pregnant. Right around 3 weeks a pregnant dog will start to develop very pink nipples and the hair around them will start to recede. This is one of the first signs of pregnancy. Keep an eye on her for any signs of weight gain or a rounder looking belly. If you still aren't sure take her to the vet for a checkup to make sure no other health problem is causing this.
Dogs are usually pregnant for about 62-63 days so if she is it won't belong before she has puppies.....
Never ever cut the chord! Many people do cut the chord and they're just wrecking the way of nature. Let your dog be.
I believe my Pomeranian may be pregnant - I called the vet and they said it they would not be able to tell whether she's pregnant or not for a month. Are there any other ways to tell if she's pregnant? She would only be about 2-3 weeks along. Thanks
Well same thing happen to my pom, only it was with a mini pincher, from my calculations she is going on 60 days , her stomach has grown a bit but not that much , I called the vet , they told me to wait until the 70th day to bring her in, the vet said if she's not prego she might have an infection in her tummy, I am worried and hope she's okay, only time will tell if she is prego or not, just hang in there a few more weeks!!
Moody, and hungry.
