Just because they can breed at six months does not mean it is wise to do so. It is best to wait until they are fully grown at about one year. A 12-13 year old girl can have a baby, but that does not mean it is a good idea.

I think your dog is old enough to reproduce. Biologically a dog gets matured when it is six months old. Sometimes this age limit varies regarding sexual maturity but variation is very small. You should really wait about two years 4 months is too young for a dog but in dog years its may be older but 4 months no way wait a year or two.
