Just because they can breed at six months does not mean it is wise to do so. It is best to wait until they are fully grown at about one year. A 12-13 year old girl can have a baby, but that does not mean it is a good idea.

A male Chihuahua must (should) have a health screening for breeding, OFA, CERF, BAER, and optigen tests plus brucellosis.  This insures your stud I(or the stud) s qualified and healthy to allow to breed.  And that is not done until they are 2 yrs old.  A male can mate sometimes as early as 6,7,9 months old, and produce puppies but if hes akc, any breeder will say 2 yrs.  I learned that the hard way.

Some people breed it when its 6mths old,but the male isn't old enough to.if its a bully(pitbull),I would wait untill he's about 1yr.a bully is a pitbull, but has a different breed added to it.there are all kinds of bullys breeds out there, but the most common are-gotti-line,razor edge, and remy-line. A bully is SHORT,MUSCULAR,WIDE,and has a BIG head.there are pocket bullys-they stand up to 16in,and theres standard bullys-17in and up.

Male dogs usually mature sexually around 6-8 months of age. They can breed then.

Usual age of breeding of a shih tzu dog is at least 2 years. You can breed him twice or thrice in month so that he can make good species of his own kind with female dog. There are various companies that provide breeding facility please check this site for further details:

I think your dog is old enough to reproduce. Biologically a dog gets matured when it is six months old. Sometimes this age limit varies regarding sexual maturity but variation is very small. If your dog is a small breed dog then it can reproduce now but large breed dogs take more time to get prepare for reproduction. If it is large breed dog then it is better that you wait till it is one years old. To increase your knowledge regarding its heat cycle let me tell you that its heat cycle remains there from eighteen to twenty one days.

Although male dogs become adult after an average of 6-9 months and are able to make a female dog pregnant but it is said that not to use male dogs for breeding purpose at this age because he might be having poor quality of sperms. Secondly, he should be free from any inherited disease. Some fitness tests are possible at the age of 2 years, so, all dogs should be used for breeding after the age of 2 years after getting fitness certificate from the vet.
