You can, in theory, get your dog spayed even while 'in' heat...there is more risk of bleeding as the blood vessels are all engorged at this time and the vet may charge you more...check with your vet for what he/she is willing to do and the cost involved

Dogs can go heat several times a year. After six months, dogs can go into heat and you can get them spayed if you do not want more dogs.

Take your dog to vet if you want to avoid it.
