You mentioned she is between 5 and 6 month's. It is very likely a fear stage. Pup's go through phases where they are afraid of everything and can be easily traumatized. The flight response may also be very strong during these stages. Some dog's are more naturally shy though and different personality's should be dealt with in different way's or you can break their spirit (and the dog). Firm doesn't necessarily mean loud. ;-)
