I have a 9 year old Shih-Tzu (Bailey) that we dearly love. One thing that you should know is that sometimes your shih-tzu might have what looks like an attack where he can't breathe. You will be scared to death. This is called a reverse sneeze. If this happens REMEMBER to simply put your finger over his nostrils and it will stop immediately. Next important thing. Food! Make sure to get a really good dog food or you can cook for them yourself but make sure you do lots of research I sometimes make Bailey ground chicken or ground turkey with brown rice, green beans and eggs and he loves it. Do not overfeed you do not want to make your baby to heavy it is hard on them. I did lots of research and the best dog food that I have found is Wellness and he also loves the wellness treats. Go to www.wellnesspetfood.com It has no corn, soy, wheat, artificial perservatives,etc which are allergens and it has no by products. Just look at what the by products are and you will not want to feed it to your baby. Next is WATER always have clean fresh water (I suggest stainless steel or ceramic bowls) available for your baby this is probably one of the most important things. Remember to give your baby lots and lots of LOVE, Shih-Tzu's love being the center of your world and you will be the center of yours.
