Dobbe's are FANTASTIC family dogs!! It personally infuriates me when ignorant people make such sweepingly false statements about the Dobbe. Do any of you suggesting that the Dobbe isn't a good family dog, not good with children, and "aggressive" have ANY experience what so ever with the Dobbe?..And a Dobbe with children?! Well I have, my whole life, and now my son lives in a home with a Dobbe, and a rescued, abused dobbe, and she is WONDERFUL! Dobbes loving, loyal, patient, trusting, and GREAT with children. So please refrain from making FALSE accusations and suggestions.
A lot of it depends on the age of the dog and the age of the children. If you are bringing a puppy into the house with young children, you shouldn't have an issue. I would not bring in an older Doberman with young children unless you are positive that this dog has been around and good with kids. With older children and older Dobermans...it is best to introduce them from a distance and watch the dogs reactions. Remember, there is no bad dog, just bad owners.
We have 2 daughters aged 2 and 4 and we are considering getting a doberman. I previously owned a Boxer which was a beautiful fantastic dog whom at the young age of 8 had to be put down due to health issues. I can't bring myself to get another Boxer because I simply can't bear to see my "Brit" in another dog but I do want to get a dog with her same qualities. If anyone can weigh in on this topic it would be greatly appreciated, good or bad and speak from experience not from reading articles or just what you "think" about the breeds, thankyou.
Doberman pinscher is placed under the working dog group. Doberman pinscher is definitely defined as a one man dog, which is too aggressive to handle and it is difficult to maintain it in a home with multiple masters and children.
When it comes to the kids the handling becomes further difficult as the children try to handle every thing in their very own way that is some times not tolerable by the aggressive breed like Doberman pinscher. The Doberman pinscher can normally not understand their childish plays and ways and tends to be reactive and aggressive.
So multiple problems may arise from keeping a dog like Doberman pinscher in a place where the kids are.
The only solution can be to bring up a puppy of Doberman pinscher in such a way that it can understand the children and the family members. Moreover, training the dog to lessen its aggression may reveal the problem to an extent but this thing remains ineffective mostly because aggression runs in their genes. But it is not a very hard and fast rule that all Doberman pinschers are aggressive. Some might be markedly different. Overall it is not suitable for a home with children.

I'm not really clued up on dogs aggressiveness or behaviour but my son is in the hospital having an opp on his face after my Friends Doberman attacked him, this dog is 8 years old and been around kids all its life, I don't think people should blame a certain breed as being more likely to bite, I think any dog could bite at any point for no apparent reason no mater what breed age or how well trained.
Yes I agree my 6 children are very safe with my dog. In fact it hasn't let them leave the house yet and my eldest child is getting on for 27 years old.
Not really they are so hyper, I have one and when she is gone I want give her away but I want buy another one when she is gone. They hard headed .
