Animals do not niche, they own a niche. A niche is the job that an organism has in an ecosystem. Like a rattlesnake's niche is to eat rodents and let birds eat them to keep their ecosystem balanced and sustainable. The niche of sharks is to eat other little fish and balance out all the populations of different species so they do not get overpopulated and destroy the community.
